On 21 April 2026, the RMR (Regional Agency Middle Ruhr Area) attended the Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Fair in Herne. Around 1,000 students took part and had the chance to gather information, ask questions, and — above all — experience the trades live. Whether as a mechatronics technician for refrigeration, construction equipment operator, wood and building protection specialist, or industrial mechanic, there was plenty to try out, get involved with, and discover. You could see how curiosity turned into genuine interest. These direct insights impressively demonstrate just how diverse the skilled trades are. Especially in times of digitalisation and transformation, future prospects in the trades are becoming increasingly important.
A particular highlight: alongside the hands-on experiences, visitors could have professional application photos taken. And our photo booth with workwear didn’t just produce plenty of laughs — it also created lasting memories.
